The Gist of It: A compilation of Mother Goose rhymes. 

This book of Mother Goose rhymes it paired with beautiful illustrations. Even though this book was published in 1986, it was originally written in 1958 so the illustrations have a lovely vintage look to them. Each page has a different rhyme and an illustration. What makes this book special is that every illustration is of babies and young children. 

 

On the Bookshelf? Yes. I really don't know how this book compares to other Mother Goose books, but I highly recommend at least one of them on your shelf. This is mine
